Time Machine to the Past.
Tuesday 27th March 2007.
I was reading the book “Brief History of Time “and a thought came to me …
What could happen if I traveled at the speed of light or i could do thing at the speed close to that of light?
Think! you have given me a task to build something and its done even before you wink that’s what I mean.
I am not trying to discuss physics here, as most scientists believe that we can’t travel at the speed of light. There is a second school of thoughts, that if we do travel at the speed of light, time becomes still.
I have been thinking and I can think too, I got an answer to both my questions. Think logically and not “Physic-ally “and the answer I got was “WE would reach the PAST”.
Weird isn’t! At first I too thought how can it be so, but if we give it a more logical thought it could be true. Before explaining how did I come to that conclusion there are few practical assumptions to be made.
First consider you are traveling or doing things at the speed of light. That is you are thinking faster than the speed of light and actions are so fast that you do them at the speed of light. To explain it better, suppose a person can do some thing in a year, you could do it less than a second (that’s at the speed of light).
Secondly all the other people around you are traveling at their normal speed and the earth is spinning and revolving at its usual speed. Remember only you are special.
Lastly screw up what certain scientist say. Think that the first assumption is practical and possible.
You are doing thing very fast i.e. I say at the seed of light so what ever you do will be seen by the rest of the world much latter, because you are doing things so fast that other people cant see. When the rest of the worlds time reaches the time you begun, as it will take them some time to realize you have done something. You are moving at speeds at which the people won’t be able to see you. If you jumped at such speed you could over come gravity. The point here is whatever you do will be realized by the normal people latter on in their time, so you are actually in the future with respect to the people on earth. For the people on earth you don’t exists as you are from the future. Hope you have got what I am trying to convey. To sum it up, as you are moving at speeds, at which people can’t see things happening, and when people do realize that something has happened you have moved much- much further in your time, thus we can say that you are the future to all the normal people on earth. Here we were looking at thing from the eyes of the normal world.
Now let us look at things from your prospective. From my above discussion as you are in the future. However when you see things all world is still the same, only you are moving at much faster speed. So you see thing moving very slowly and all the architecture is much older than where you are, you will feel like you have been put to some where in the past. Because you are changing at a rate much faster, with respect to the people on earth. So you are the future for this people, but when you look at thing around you, you don’t see any thing changing at-all. Like things have stopped forever, so even though you are in the future you feel you have reached the past. As thing around you are not changing at the way you want them to.
This is a paradox, you have reached the future and there is nothing other than you that’s in the future. Now what ever you make will be the things of the future, in short you are the future but the things around you are not changing. You are in the future and what you are seeing is the present earth. Remember the earth is moving at its normal. Thus you have reached the past.
How-ever far in the future you might be able to reach, you will be the future but world will remain at the present. If every one could travel so fast the world could progress or destruct rapidly. But you can never go to the past other than today.
I don’t know how I can explain this in much better words…. For You to understand.
The views here are mine and might not be scientifically true, but it’s just a thought.
